Welham - Watson descendant

Christine Harris (nee Watson), a descendant of Eliza and Richard Watson has a family tree on Ancestry.Com    https://www.ancestry.com.au/family-tree/tree/118242104/recent

Her Great Grandfather was David Goodwin Watson, her Grandfather was Bertram Fritzroy Maurice Watson, and her father Raymond Maurice Watson.

She has had her DNA tested and is interested in making contact with anyone from the family, particularly those who have also had DNA testing done.

Christine is looking to break down the brickwall that has withstood almost 40 years of research - Richard Watson.  When Richard married Eliza Welham in Sydney in 1844 he said that he was born in 1827 and in Liverpool (no indication of which of the many Liverpools around the world).  The 1827 date has led to many people matching him with the Richard Watson who was born in 1827 in Van Diemen's Land to Richard Watson (a 3rd fleet convict) and Hannah Williams (aka Hoddy) who was born on Norfolk Island to Isaac Williams and Rachel Hoddy, who were both convicts.  It would be a great achievement to either prove or disprove this relationship and DNA appears to be the only means available to us.  It would be an equally great achievement to disprove this connection once and for all through finding connections with another family line.
